Welcome message from the Chairman of DFSC
In Sham Shui Po, there are many old buildings and street stalls, and the population is dense, making disaster prevention crucial for ensuring the fire safety of residents' lives and property. Due to some old buildings not meeting current fire safety standards, the Fire Services Department will issue fire safety directions to those buildings that fail to meet the standards. However, many of these old buildings are "three-nil" buildings, which requires the formation of an owners' corporation to help improve building management and enhance fire safety.
Fire protection is long-term effort that requires the participation of the entire community and ensuring fire safety is everyone's responsibility. We should always remain vigilant, manage and use fire sources carefully, and avoid negligence that could lead to fires. At the same time, we need to strengthen the promotion and education of fire prevention knowledge to improve everyone's emergency preparedness and self-rescue capabilities.
As the chairman of the District Fire Safety Committee, I am keenly aware of the importance of fire prevention work. We will continue to strive to work closely with various government departments, community organizations, and residents to promote fire prevention efforts together. Only through the collective efforts of the community can we build a safe environment.
