To enhance fire safety awareness among residents of subdivided units, the Fire Services Department, in collaboration with the Tsuen Wan District Fire Safety Committee, visited the Tsuen Wan Community Living Room to conduct fire education activities and distribute "Disaster Preparedness Emergency Kits" to residents.
The Tsuen Wan Community Living Room is committed to providing a welcoming shared living space for subdivided-unit households and underprivileged families in the district. Using the community living room as a platform to bring residents together, the Fire Services Department organised a dedicated fire safety talk and provided residents with training as "Building Emergency Responders". Topics covered included common fire hazards in buildings and general causes of fires, fire safety improvement works for old buildings, knowledge of fire service installations and equipment, as well as escape techniques in smoke-filled environments. In addition, interactive fire safety mini-games were arranged, enabling children to learn fire safety knowledge in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere at the community living room.
Prevention is better than cure. Participants were also presented with "Disaster Preparedness Emergency Kits" to jointly enhance residents' emergency preparedness and fire safety in subdivided units.
