The Fire Services Department and Sai Kung Home Affairs Department jointly organized the "28th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Sai Kung District Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Day " event on June 24, 2025.

The District Fire Safety Committee (Sai Kung District), in collaboration with the Sai Kung Home Affairs Department, the Fire Services Department Community Emergency Responder Honorary Presidents’ Association (Sai Kung District), the Fire Services Department Community Emergency Responder (Sai Kung District), the Fire and Ambulance Services Teen Connect (Sai Kung District), as well as Sai Kung Fire Station, Tai Chik Sha Fire Station, and Po Lam Fire Station, reached out to multiple locations across the Sai Kung community. The team conducted a fire talk at Park Centre, teaching residents the correct use of fire hoses and fire extinguishers to enhance their emergency response capabilities in the event of a fire.

Additionally, the team visited various villages in the Sai Kung District, including Tseung Kwan O Village, Tai Po Tsai Village, Wo Mei Village, Luk Mei Village, and Man Yee Wan New Village. They introduced and demonstrated tools for handling tree collapse incidents and their operation, and personally delivered the "Three Treasures for Fire Protection" (Fire Extinguishers, Fire Blankets and Stand-alone Fire Detectors) to households to help villagers improve home fire safety.

Furthermore, the team distributed leaflets on disaster prevention and emergency preparedness in Man Yee Playground, promoting knowledge on disaster response and safety measures during severe weather conditions. They also distributed "Three Treasures for Fire Protection" to local residents of the "three-nil" buildings at Yee Chun Street, emphasizing the importance of community disaster prevention.

This event effectively enhanced residents’preparedness for disasters, further strengthening the community’s emergency response capacity and laying a solid foundation for building a safer living environment.
