The Fire Services Department, together with The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Fire Services Department Community Emergency Responders Honorary Presidents' Association (Sai Kung District), held the Sai Kung District Emergency Preparedness Event Day cum Po Lam Fire Station Open Day 2026 on 12 July 2026. The event aimed to raise public awareness of disaster preparedness and to showcase the emergency capabilities of fire and ambulance services.

During the event, the Fire Services Department arranged a variety of demonstrations and hands‑on activities, including firefighting and rescue demonstrations, an exhibition of fire and ambulance vehicles, search‑and‑rescue dog demonstrations, first‑aid interactive games, remote‑control car activities, escape simulation game, and a children’s “golden suit” dressing experience. Through these interactive activities, participants learned fire‑safety knowledge and the Three Basic Skills on Emergency Preparedness (Extinguish and Prevent Fire, Self-help and Help Others, Escape and Evacuate, thereby strengthening individual and community readiness for emergencies.

The event effectively promoted collaboration between the Fire Services Department and the community, enhanced citizens’ responsiveness to emergencies, and further consolidated community safety.
