With the Ching Ming Festival approaching, the North District Fire Safety Committee and the Fire Services Department Community Emergency Responder launched fire prevention awareness campaigns on March 22 (Saturday) and 29 (Saturday).
The initiatives, held at key ancestral worship sites across the North District, included distributing fire safety leaflets and promotional materials to grave sweepers, alongside live demonstrations of mountain fire escape techniques for the public.
Emphasizing the risks of the dry spring season, organizers urged residents to avoid excessive burning of incense, candles, and joss paper during ancestral rites and to keep passageways in worship areas clear. These efforts aim to strengthen community resilience and disaster preparedness ahead of the festival period.
