As autumn deepens, it's the perfect season for hiking due to the dry and comfortable weather. However, with the high winds and dry conditions, everyone should be cautious about fire prevention.

With the Chung Yeung Festival approaching, the risk of hillfires is especially high. North District, being mountainous, requires extensive hill fire prevention efforts. District Fire Safety Committee (North District), in collaboration with Fanling Fire Station of Fire Services Department, Fire Safety Ambassador Honorary Presidents’ Association, and North District Office, has formed a volunteer team to launch "Festival Hillfire Prevention Promotion Activities" and "Fire Safety Education Activities" to remind residents of the North District to handle fire carefully during the Chung Yeung Festival!

The volunteer team first distributed fire prevention leaflets and souvenirs at Wo Hop Shek Cemetery and Luen Wo Market, Fanling on 28.9.2024, issuing special reminders to Grave sweepers to be careful with the burning of joss paper. On 7.10.2024, the team also visited Lung Yeuk Tau, Man Uk Pin, Sung Yuen Ha, and Sheung Shui Heung, distributing leaflets and reminding villagers to be vigilant against hillfire during the Chung Yeung Festival as well as the autumn and winter seasons. A fire prevention promotional vehicle also played fire safety messages for passers-by along the route!

Remember, it is vital to always be vigilant about fire prevention to protect our precious natural environment!
