On 21 August 2026, Fire Services Department, Hong Kong Police Force, Kwai Tsing District Fire Safety Committee, and Kwai Tsing District Office conducted an “Anti-illicit Fuelling Activities” publicity operation in Ha Kwai Chung Village to enhance community awareness of fire risks associated with illicit fuelling activities.

During the operation, the Fire Services Department briefed members of the District Fire Safety Committee and village representatives on an illicit fuelling case that occurred in the village on 12 August 2026, followed by a site inspection on the related locations. Publicity leaflets and 50 sets of “Emergency Preparedness Kits” were then distributed to villagers to strengthen their fire safety and disaster‑preparedness awareness.
